Happy First Week Wyatt
One week ago today, we brought home a new baby to our family. His name is now Wyatt (when he came from Patty's Playful Puppy Ranch he was named Cadet)
Wyatt been a busy boy since his arrival. He is very active and curious as most puppies are. He is also very smart. Whatever lessons Patty started sunk in with Wyatt. He took to his crate very quickly. His first night was really nice. He cried for less than a minute and slept for about 6 hours. By the end of the week, he was sleeping about 9 hours and going right outside when he wakes up. Potty training has gone really well also. As soon as he wakes up or comes out of the crate he wants to go outside.
He really enjoys the outdoors and wants to go outside and explore in the backyard many times during the day. He is fascinated by the many things in the yard...flowers, sticks, squirrels and most anything that draws his attention.
With five other animals in the house he is enjoying his new friends although the feeling isn't mutual yet. Our other dog was jealous for several days, but finally bonded by the end of the week. They now spend considerable time playing with each other. One of our cats - Max introduced himself right away, because Max actually thinks he is a dog and it was nice to have another dog to play with. Our other two cats don't quite feel the same way.
Wyatt has been very popular the few places he has visited. His human Dad's favorite morning hangout is Starbucks, and Wyatt has been a huge hit there. In fact, he is invited to come everyday and his human dad gets scolded it he isn't with him.
Wyatt has also been introduced to human babies this past week as well. He played with the an eight month old on Saturday and really enjoyed the little guy. In addition, many friends have stopped in to meet him in person. However, given that Wyatt is a busy boy, on some visits, he was napping so people only got to see him sleeping - sometimes up side down. He plays hard and sleeps hard.
Wyatt is enjoying his raw diet meals and has learned to sit and wait to be served already. He is pretty easy to train so far and seems responsive to learning. I'm grateful for his quick learning ability and it certainly must be attributed to his wonderful mom and dad - Halo and Cole.
We are truly grateful to have him our home and loved him at first site. But, given all of Patty's amazing pups, how could you not love them all.
I will try to update this blog as much as possible has Wyatt grows because his successes are worth sharing to others as their successes are achieved as well.
Until next time - Woof!
