The Wonderful World of Wyatt 6.0

Wyatt turned 4 months old yesterday and he didn't get to have a birthday party -

Mom and Dad were out of town enjoying some rest and relaxation.

Wyatt attended his second puppy class and learned a few new tricks. Now, if only Dad could learn them to teach to Wyatt. Wyatt is doing well on his puppy class lessons too.  He is now coming when called(most of the time), he automatically sits and waits for his food, he is getting much better on the leash for longer walks, he lies down on command, and this week learned:  "leave it," "drop it," and "take it." All necessary evils for a young man that loves to get into everything.

Wyatt also visited the Vet again last week and got another round of shots and plenty of attention.

Wyatt's friend Ginger (our 11 year old Cockapoo) recovered from her procedures and is no longer segregated from her new puppy friend.  She was isolated for two weeks while stitches healed on her head and her 6 teeth extractions.

In the last few days, Wyatt's color has started to change.  His coat is turning into a very nice light golden color and his big boy teeth are coming in as well.  Our baby is turning into a dog right before our eyes.

In two weeks, we will have Wyatt for 3 months and boy do we love this guy!  He is so much fun (and work) the time just flies by everyday.

That's it for now.  Stay tuned for an update.  Woof!

Wonderful World of Wyatt 5.0

The Wonderful World of Wyatt 5.0

Hi peoples,

It's been a couple of weeks since the last blog update and we have been pretty busy.  Wyatt is now 14 1/2 weeks and busy as ever.  What is really amazing is the fact that he is losing all of his soft puppy fluff and now weighs 24.00 pounds.  Sadly, he is becoming a big boy right before our eyes.  None the less, he is still very much a puppy - in to everything within his mouth's reach and always busy getting into something.  But - he is still a puppy.  The teeth are sharper, the bark more mature and the energy level - insane. Yet he is so much fun each day and the love for him grows more daily - except maybe from 2 of our 3 cats. They aren't crazy about him, but he is certainly crazy about them.  Max is the one and only cat that really enjoys tormenting Wyatt.  He teases  him constantly and their game of tag is hilarious. Hopefully the videos attached will work better this week. Wyatt's partner in crime Ginger our Cockapoo had some major dental extractions (6) on June 2, so she has to be kept away from him for a week, which gives  her a break and drives Wyatt crazy because he can't pick on and annoy her for another several days.  Wyatt too goes back next week for the next round of puppy shots.  His visit to the Vet so far has been good.

Wyatt will have a new experience tomorrow - we are babysitting 2 year old twins.  This will be his first exposure to little people, so hopefully it will go well and he does't end up teething on them.
Also, a couple of friends of ours are looking to get a puppy, so they are babysitting Wyatt for a few hours tomorrow - may the force be with them.

Not much else happening except for the torrential rains we've been having lately, which is always welcome but tends to create many obstacles for dogs wanting to go potty.

That's all folks for this round. Stay tuned for more adventures of WWW.
